Donald Steele, Founder & Managing Director, has 30 years of experience in commercial, investment and merchant banking. Prior to founding Mercantile in 1989, Don was Managing Director of Capital Markets for Pemberton Securities and Sr. VP Director and Corporate Finance at Merrill Lynch Canada. Currently Don is Chairman and CEO of Pacific BioEnergy Corporation, Mercantile’s renewable energy investment and sits on a number of corporate boards. Don holds a BSc, Biochem, University of British Columbia, a BFA, Emily Carr University and an MBA, University of Western Ontario.

Eduard Daughney, Director, has been involved with Mercantile in an advisory and board capacity since 1994. Ed was the previous owner of Echelon Home Products, a distributor of high-end appliances and is the Executive Chair of TimberWest Forest. Previously Ed was President of Merit Kitchens, First City Trust, Roxy Petroleum, Great Northern Finance and United Trust. Ed holds an MBA, University of Western Ontario, BBA, University of New Brunswick and is a Chartered Accountant.
Christine McPhie, Corporate Secretary and Controller, joined Mercantile in 1998. Prior to joining Mercantile, Chris held controllership positions with Trimin Capital Corp., The Georgia Straight and The Computer Paper and financial positions with Pemberton Securities Inc. and CIBC. Chris is a Certified Management Accountant.

Kelly Evans, Office and Administration Manager, has over 20 years experience in administration and client management. Prior to joining Mercantile, Kelly held various administrative positions, including 4 years with a national brokerage firm.
